OverviewEugene will once again be in the world spotlight as it prepares to host its next major track and field meet this summer at historic Hayward Field. Track Town USA will build on the foundation provided by the wildly successful 2008 U.S. Olympic Trials, as we host the most competitive track meet this year, where athletes will be selected to represent the U.S. in the 2009 IAAF World Championships in Berlin, Germany.
The 2009 USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships will be held at Hayward Field June 25th - 28th. The USA Junior Outdoor Track & Field Championships will be held at the same time. All-Session and individual day tickets are on sale NOW! Purchase tickets at www.goducks.com or by calling 1-800-WEBFOOT.
There is no spectator parking at Hayward Field. Spectators are encouraged to park at Autzen Stadium and ride the free shuttle, walk, or utilize the free bicycle valet service. • Autzen Shuttle: LTD is providing a free shuttle, roundtrip from Autzen Stadium to Hayward Field. Schedule and map available here. Please note that during the race walk there is a slight change in the drop-off location. • Bicycle Valet: A free bicycle valet service is available at 15th and Agate. • Road Closures: The only road closure is Agate Street between 13th and 18th Saturday and Sunday mornings from 5:30 a.m. to about 10:00 a.m. for the race walk competition.
TRACK TOWN PLAZA Track Town Plaza is a free interactive fan area located on the Rec Field next to Hayward Field and the Student Rec Center. This area will feature concessions, retail sales, visitor information, entertainment, etc. The hours of operation for Track Town Plaza are as follows:
On Friday night, June 26th The Phil Bowermans will play at the Track Town Plazastage at 8:30 pm (as soon as the track action is completed) and play until 9:45. The Phil Bowermans is a collection of NIKE employees and some pro musicians - the name honors Phil Knight and Bill Bowerman. They have two electric guitars, bass, drums, sax, organ and two other keyboards along with vocals. A big, full, fun sound. Free to the public (even if you don't attend the track meet.) Further information about entertainment will be updated here shortly. On Saturday night (June 27th) from 7:30 to 8:45 The Konkies will play. They are a large band with a lively sound. PROHIBITED ITEMS Bag inspections will be performed at the gate. The following items are prohibited inside Hayward Field:
• Open umbrellas will not be permitted in the seating and aisle areas. Glass or metal containers, vacuum bottles or other similar insulated containers (thermos-type containers), open plastic beverage containers (unless empty), weapons, fireworks, laser pointers, explosives or munitions are not permitted inside the stadium.
